Hello friends, I am back with a brand new article related to a totally different topic. So, in this article, I am going to talk about my new experience with Google AdSense.

Before diving further, let me tell you some background. This is not my first blog site, it’s my second.

A thought came to my mind nearly three months ago and I thought, in order to study my academic background, I should also start a website. Since every person now has at least a Google account, I decided to use its blogging services. Google provides access to a lot of its services only with a google account and blogger is one of them.

Coming to the topic, first of all, the first thing that has been asked after opening the blogger was the name of my website and thereafter the blog address. Since blogger is a free service from Google; its blog address comes with subdomain example.blogspot.com. So, after this being done, my website was now started showing on browser. The next thing I did was to write a post and publish it.

And then, the next two days, I wrote another two post not more than 200 words long.

The thing is, I didn’t know a thing about Google AdSense back then. I only came to know it by the ‘Earnings’ tab on the blogger dashboard. My website has the default theme by blogger which I really wanted to change. But I didn’t do it before publishing the first three posts.

So, I googled about the theme and applied a theme of my choice. As simple as it sounds, believe me, it was not. If you are new and going to create a blog or website with zero knowledge, then it is going to take a lot of effort and energy. It took nearly a month and a half to understand about different things and problem faced during setting up a blog theme, it editing as per requirement and meeting the different criteria to fulfil the AdSense policy, terms and condition. And, I was so involved that I nearly forgot to write the posts.

Most of the time, I found myself just watching the different videos and surfing about different questions and problems faced on the web and looking at more than one website for a better answer.

Some of the time, during selecting the theme for my blog, thoughts came for learning the whole HTML and creating my own theme for my blog. I know, some of you might laugh on this thought. But, I even looked for the different websites for it. And, the complete study of HTML was going to take months if not days.

So, I dropped the idea and focused on the problems and my necessity of the things on my blog to make it my way. I even ended up staring at the HTML code for hours just to give a headache to myself.

But with the time, I started to understand the way, the HTML code is written and making my own changes to add new gadgets and removing things that I didn't want on the website but it was all the courtesy of the different website on the web and my effort of surfing.

Some of the main problems faced by me were how to change the theme of my blog, how to add search box at a specific location on my website, how to change the theme color, text color, font and size other then the default, how to add the sitemap, privacy policy and contact us page to the blog, which is also necessary if you are going to apply for Google AdSense, how to add or remove menu options, social media links and different gadgets, and mostly how and when the earnings tab of the blogger will be enabled. These are some few, necessity becomes clear when you start understanding the solution of the problem or you can say "creativity kicks when understanding begins".

As soon as I added the custom domain (one more problem), I applied for Google AdSense. By then, my blog had 11 posts. But remember, one of the main things about blogging is the content and one of the sayings I came across while learning about blogging is ‘Content is the King’. And, it is also one of the main terms of Google AdSense program policy.

Then, I started analyzing my post content. The main problem faced by the bloggers is not the process involved in it but the content. Most of the people as I learnt, comes to the blogging world for earning money by Google AdSense. And, many of them start copying or manipulating the pre-existing content on the web and pasting it on their blog. And, when they did not get the result from it, they get demotivated.

As in my case, even though I did not intend of copying anything but being blogging on an academic topic, I ended up in manipulating the sentences of the book which I read, in my point of view as I analyzed my content. I got demotivated.

From there on, I started analyzing the content of the websites which I visited and felt to start a different blog for practicing and developing the art of writing and, this resulted in this blog that you are currently at and reading this post. I like this blog and writing about my thoughts and interest, but being busy on my first blog, I might not be available as much, on this.

I had applied for the Google AdSense approval on 22nd of July and waited for nearly 3 weeks, till I got a mail from Google AdSense saying

Google Adsense Response
Conclusion

As I said that blogging, and if you are new, takes a lot of effort and energy and obviously the time. So, don’t think that you will do just fine with copying and manipulating the pre-existing articles and just posting it. Google is much smarter than you, me or anyone. I will state the saying again that content is the king but it is equally important to maintain your website and its theme to make it user friendly as humanely as possible. There will come times when you will get excited and there will be the times when you will get demotivated but if you know the art of writing, then, there will be no chance of demotivation for you but if you don’t know or you end up manipulating and copying things, then, you should better start working on that. Learning, how to write will not just benefit you for blogging but it will also enhance your power of thinking and will be helpful in many aspects of life.

All the best!
